History of Calvary Bible Institute Dumaguete

Calvary Bible Institute Dumaguete, initially incorporated as Calvary Chapel Training Center, was first envisioned by the late Pastor John Michaels (Calvary Chapel Spring Valley – Las Vegas) in the early 90s to continue training up pastors and church workers in the inductive study and teaching of the Word of God.

In 1995, Calvary Chapel Bible College Dumaguete, Philippines was founded with the larger vision of training students to help with existing Calvary Chapels and to plant new Calvary Chapels. Under the leadership of the founding director, Pastor Trip Kimball, this vision began to be faithfully implemented through the training of a multitude of pastors, missionaries, and church workers.

In June of 2024, Calvary Chapel Bible College Dumageute was renamed as Calvary Bible Institute Dumaguete in order to remain aligned with the overall vision of the greater Calvary Chapel movement, under the leadership of the Calvary Chapel Association.

In the nearly three decades of our existence, and with many directors, we have seen many new churches and ministry works started through the ministry of this campus, both in the Philippines and around the world.

We seek to continue this vision and mission of training up men and women for the work of the ministry, through Inductive Bible Study and practical ministry training, for the Philippines, Asia, and the rest of the world!
